KangaMall Verdict

🟠 Conditional

Consider the WINBOT W2 Pro Omni for several large, suitable household panes that you can safely reach to attach and retrieve the robot. The portable station is useful, but this remains a supervised cleaning task with a secured tether and some manual edge finishing. TechRadar’s strong home results coexist with CHIP’s mixed stain tests. The checked new Amazon.com offer was in stock at US$499.99; the lower partner quote was not reproduced in that buy box.

Pros

  • The station supports moving between suitable panes without a permanent power-outlet connection.
  • A named home test reported strong cleaning on dirty and frameless glass.
  • Useful for repeated large-pane household cleaning when attachment, retrieval and tethering are safe.

Cons

  • You still supervise, move it between panes, clean pads and finish some corners.
  • CHIP found a 6mm uncleaned edge and residues on some sticky stains and limescale.
  • Small, unsuitable or inaccessible panes can rule it out before price matters.

Best for: Households with several large flat panes that can be safely reached for attachment and retrieval; Owners willing to supervise, secure the tether and finish corners manually

Count suitable panes before counting features

The W2 Pro Omni is most interesting when the same household repeatedly cleans several large panes. On that job, reducing the amount of hand wiping may be useful even if you still handle every setup. A home with many small divided windows presents a different problem: moving and preparing the robot may dominate the work. Buying should start with a pane list rather than an impressive climbing demonstration.

This review covers the W2 PRO OMNI with its station, ASIN B0DR8Y4VF9. W2 OMNI, W2S and W2S Pro products are different selections. ECOVACS specifies a minimum pane of 30 × 40cm, but size alone does not establish suitability. Frame, glass condition, thickness, surface and a safe placement-and-retrieval position also matter. Source: ECOVACS US; ECOVACS.

The strongest disqualifier is straightforward: if you cannot safely place and recover the machine or secure it as the instructions require, do not use this review as a reason to reach farther. Investigate a qualified service for inaccessible exterior glass. This is household equipment, not a commercial high-rise cleaning solution.

List the panes that meet both the size requirement and the complete manual conditions.

The cleaning evidence is positive, but it is not unanimous

Cat Ellis’s TechRadar review, first tested in June 2025, is strongly positive about dirty-window cleaning. She used different pane sizes and framed and frameless surfaces, including a shower door and mirrors. The bot did not lose suction during her trial, and she found the overall routine straightforward. That is a useful named home experience, not evidence of a zero-fall rate across owners or every type of glazing. Source: TechRadar / Cat Ellis.

CHIP’s 2026 Testcenter report is more mixed. It found good removal of some marks, but jam, ketchup and limescale left visible residue; its test also recorded an uncleaned edge of about 6mm. An unusual gable-shaped pane caused the cleaning run to stop. That makes ordinary large rectangular panes a more defensible buying case than awkward shapes or a promise to erase every dried stain. Source: CHIP / Thorsten Nowag.

Those findings should remain separate. The tests used different dirt, surfaces and protocols, so averaging the scores would create a result neither publication measured. Our recommendation assumes maintenance cleaning with occasional manual finishing. It does not assume that the best before-and-after demonstration will describe every pane in your home.

Match your typical dirt and pane shapes to the actual test conditions, not a headline score.

The station improves carrying, not complete autonomy

The station is the practical reason to shortlist this configuration. Its battery supports operation without staying beside a power outlet, and the equipment travels together between suitable cleaning locations. This can be valuable around a home with broad doors and windows. It does not mean the robot moves itself from one pane to the next or can be left to finish the property while you leave. Source: ECOVACS US; TechRadar / Cat Ellis.

You still attach and retrieve it, reposition it between panes, manage the securing arrangement and maintain the wiping pads. TechRadar also found corners that required a hand finish, while fan noise could make spoken prompts difficult to hear. Budget attention as well as cleaning time; a rated 110-minute battery is not a measured estimate of the time to clean your whole house. Source: TechRadar / Cat Ellis.

A useful planning exercise is to count full panes, both sides where appropriate, and the changes of position involved. Keep the intended setup compatible with the instructions. We have not measured labor savings or calculated a payback period, and would not justify this purchase with a made-up annual saving.

Plan the entire supervised routine, including moves, pad changes and corner touch-ups.

The safety instructions override the marketing shorthand

The official AMR manual requires supervision, a properly secured carabiner and tether at a strong indoor anchor, and a clear area below the working position. It restricts exterior use to calm, dry conditions. Automatic protection features and a successful reviewer trial do not remove those requirements. Do not lean outside or improvise a setup to make an otherwise unsuitable pane work. Source: ECOVACS.

The manual excludes broken or uneven glass and surfaces with gaps or holes. It specifies at least 3mm glass thickness, 4mm for mirrors, and a minimum 5mm frame where framed glass is used. These restrictions are more specific than a broad product-page description of flat windows. Check the full current manual for your unit rather than treating this short review as an installation or operating guide. Source: ECOVACS.

We do not certify any particular window, anchor or installation. A buyer who cannot establish compatibility and safe attachment should stop at that point. The recommendation concerns a suitable household cleaning task; it is not a promise that the machine makes an inaccessible exterior safe to reach.

Resolve the actual pane, anchor and safe retrieval arrangement before ordering or operating.

Pads, solution and edge finishing remain ownership work

The wiping pad is part of the cleaning result, not a disposable detail you can ignore. The manual requires attention to particles that could scratch glass, and regular pad care belongs in the routine. Use the approved cleaning materials and instructions for the exact unit rather than copying improvised additives or bypass advice from an owner discussion. Source: ECOVACS.

Do not assume every regional carton includes the same amount of solution. The current US product table lists an empty solution bottle among its contents. Confirm the actual offer’s contents and any cleaning supplies you need before setting a budget. A regional reviewer’s included accessories or historical price is not proof of what this US order supplies. Source: ECOVACS US.

That ongoing work is a fair trade for some large-pane homes and a poor trade for others. If the surfaces are small and readily cleaned by hand, investigate whether a machine adds enough benefit to justify storage, preparation and care. No competing exact model or service price has been verified in this review.

The checked new price is US$499.99, not the lower feed quote

The US ZIP 10001 buy box showed the new W2 Pro Omni in stock at US$499.99, sold and shipped by Amazon.com. PartnerBoost displayed US$319.99, but we did not reproduce that price in the selected new buy box. We have not deducted an unverified coupon, used-item price or card incentive. A separate Amazon Resale offer is excluded from this recommendation.

The new-item listing displayed FREE 30-day refund/replacement. Order-specific conditions still apply; it is not an unconditional free used-product trial. ECOVACS publishes 12-month limited coverage for eligible new direct or dealer purchases, excludes Amazon Resale and lists misuse and unauthorized-repair exclusions. Keep the invoice and confirm eligibility for the exact order; the direct-store return policy is separate from Amazon’s terms. Source: ECOVACS US Support.

At that observed price, we would consider it for repeated large-pane household work where setup, supervision and manual finishing are acceptable. We would skip it for inaccessible outside glass, commercial use, unsuitable panes or expectations of a perfect hands-off finish. The recommendation is about reducing a suitable cleaning task, not removing the person responsible for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I leave it cleaning while I go out?

No. The AMR manual requires supervised use, a properly secured tether and a clear area below the working position. Protection features do not make unattended operation acceptable.

Which windows are suitable?

The maker lists a minimum pane of 30 × 40cm, but the full manual also restricts surfaces, thickness, frames, weather and securing arrangements. You must be able to safely attach and retrieve the robot. Inaccessible exterior glass needs a different approach.

Does it clean every stain and corner?

No such guarantee is supported. TechRadar reported very good home results with some corner finishing, while CHIP found a 6mm uncleaned edge and residues on some sticky stains and limescale. The protocols differ, and neither result should be generalized to every home.

What price and seller did you verify?

The checked new Amazon.com offer was US$499.99, in stock, with FREE 30-day refund/replacement shown for US ZIP 10001. The lower US$319.99 partner quote was not reproduced. Amazon Resale is excluded; confirm final totals, order conditions and manufacturer warranty eligibility.
